The David Levine Page
Art by Alex Kain
"Memories pass like autumn leaves,
thoughts of joy like sand through sieves. The beast within, it's fiendish
grin, it's tearing up my soul..."
Hello, and welcome to the home of David Levine on the Web.
Who is David Levine? He is the fictional character from my novel, The
Memoirs of David Levine: The Rats of NIMH and I.
He is a Jewish teenager who lives in Baltimore. What
he thinks is going to be a boring week at the Fitzgibbon's farm really
turns out to be the most impactful time of his life. He gets himself turned
into a rat. His only real option was to join a colony of rats in the mountains,
the superintelligent Rats of NIMH. He soon finds himself at the center
of an adventure of a lifetime...
This is another sketch of David, done by Jeff Lockerman
I seem
to have gotten a few fans from this story. I really love the art. Keep
it coming, guys!
The Music
The novel will be scored musically
like a film. I have taken it upon myself to arrange original compositions
for this book. I have already arranged the main theme, which you are hearing,
called What I Have Become. And The
Duet of David and Jennifer, Which is a piece
for the classical guitar.
The novel is being published on the web, so the score
will be in form of embedded MIDIs.
VERY special thanks to Kristin Blomstedt and her Fan
Fiction Site.
